Texas Trip: Part II

After spending a night in Houston, mom and my Big Buddy (who you'll meet soon) took me on a road trip to Austin! Traveling by car has always been my preferred method of transportation, especially since I have my own seat.

Austin was my first home, and I love going back to visit for many reasons. The BIGGEST is definitely my cousin Leo.

Leo is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and even though we're only 3 months apart, he weighs 110lbs more than me, and his butt is too tall for me to sniff. When mom brought me home for the first time, Leo was ecstatic that he had a new toy to play with! On the other hand paw, I had a few reservations about this horse-like beast that I heard could hunt lions in Africa.

While Leo and I definitely experienced our fair share of squabbles....

...I eventually realized that all he wanted to do was cuddle.

Now that we're both a little more mature, Leo and are I are the best of friends. When I visited him in Austin, Leo let me use his crate...

....and even shared his toys (something I'm working on).

When it was time to leave, Leo and I said our good-byes and tried not to whimper.

See you soon Leezorator, I miss you!

Texas Trip: Part I

To celebrate Valentine's Day (or at least so mom could), we took a trip to Texas! One of my favorite places to visit is Houston, where my grandparents live. They have a HUGE backyard, and it's really like having my own personal dog park (without the cute Shih Tzus to sniff).  Whenever we stay there, I insist on playing fetch for several hours every morning.

When my favorite ball got stuck in the bushes, I panicked!

...but fortunately all good grandparents keep a supply of toys in assorted colors and sizes.

And the best part about being in Houston?

There are so many places for me to nap!

A rip-roaring good time!

The sun finally came out yesterday in NYC, so mom decided to take me on a nice long walk. It was so cold the Hudson River was frozen over, but she felt guilty about keeping me cooped up all day Saturday.

I pulled as hard as I could to get to the Leroy Street Dog Run- one of my favorite city spots. Mom gave in, but it was so windy and cold that we didn't stick around for long.

We ducked into Zoomies on our way home to warm up for a bit. This is one of my favorite West Village dog boutiques, due in part to their cute little Yorkie, Chou Chou, who resides on the countertop.

Mom decided that I needed new toy, because I tore all of the stuffing out of my Valentine's day bear. I love ripping the arms and legs off a $10 stuffed animal that mom gives me two weeks before a designated holiday.

When we spotted the "Let 'Em Rip" Pig, mom was sold. The head and limbs are velcro-ed on, so they can be re-attached after I tear them off. This is what it looked like last night:

....and 24 hours later:

No stuffing to clean-up and I get to rip it apart again tomorrow! Awesome.
